Shopping Tips For Better Sports Bras

By Lilianna Wright

Active women of all shapes and sizes require breast support. Often the motivating factor for buying sports bras is to minimize the bounce factor and to prevent injury to the breast tissue, muscles and ligaments while performing certain activities. Sports bras are a necessity because regular bras do not offer the same support or comfort that a sports bra can. Unfortunately, more women have just walked into a store and picked up the first sports bra they found for under $20.00 without every considering how much real support or comfort they would receive while wearing it during a workout.

Are you one of those women that thinks that your only option to good breast support is by layering 2-3 of those cheap sports bras on? I hope not, but if you are then keep reading because you are clueless and that's ok. I am going to help provide you with information that will rescue your boobs form suffering from uni-boob syndrome or the "smashed in" look. You don't have to wear bras two sizes too small either.

What I am about to tell you is going to shake you up a bit. Your next sports bra and future sports bras from here on out are not going to be found in "left over" stores like Ross, Marshall's, TJ Maxx or wherever it is you shop for discounted athletic gear. Accept this fact and let's move on. You need to first decide your activity level. Are you mostly doing low impact things such as yoga, pilates or casual walking or are you running, doing the elliptical trainer, tennis or spinning? Just to be safe I would actually suggest purchasing high impact bras, aka runner sports bras.

These bras have some very obvious differences over cheap sports bras. The cups will be the first obvious difference. These bras will have a visible shape and contour to them even while on a hanger. They will not be flat in the cup area. If you see a sports bra that is flat looking in teh cup area, immediately put that bra down or hit the back button on your browser.

Another thing is going to be the price. Now I am not suggesting that just because there is a more expensive price tag on the bra, then it must be good. What I am saying is that a good quality bra is going to cost you some decent coin. High impact bras will cost you anywhere from $35-80.00 and they will be worth every penny. - 29951
