Airsoft Shotguns Get Kids Playing Outdoors Again

By Kevin Hutto

Airsoft Shotguns come in many different model and types. For instance there are a variety of shotguns to choose from like a pump action, a 12 gauge, sawed off and spring to name a few. These Airsoft shotguns are toys for young children and even with teens and young adults alike. These Airsoft shotguns use little plastic pellets that are loaded into the gun with a tubing type device. This helps to prevent loss of the very little pellets.

The pellets come in different sizes and colors according to the Airsoft guns they are used in. The pellets are lightweight and small so it doesn't really hurt when you get shot with them. Airsoft shotguns are great fun for kids when playing outdoors. They can use their imaginations and play Cops and Robbers or Cowboys and Indians just like kids did years ago.

It is important to protect your eyes and those of your kids when playing with pellet guns of any kind and the Airsoft shotgun is no exception. You can buy safety glasses or goggles wherever you buy your gun. Teach your kids to wear them every time they play with the guns so they don't have to worry about eye injury while they are out running in the fresh air chasing robbers.

Most parents and grandparents remember those days fondly - when playtime meant being outside all day rather than cooped up in the house in front of a TV screen. Many afternoons were spent chasing each other with plastic guns playing cops and robbers, or sheriff and outlaws.

You can give your kids the same fun experience. Encourage them to play and run outside rather than playing video games all day. It will be healthier for them too, to get exercise and fresh air. Airsoft shotguns are more durable than most plastic toy guns and will stand up to tough wear and tear from young boys.

They are not expensive at all, no more than or even less than a computer game that keeps your kids sitting instead of exercising when they don't even realize that they are because they are having fun while keeping in shape. All you need to protect is your eyes and a simple pair of plastic glasses or goggles does just that.

Airsoft shotgun pellets cannot penetrate the skin because they are small and lightweight. You can feel it when you get shot which makes a shoot out at the OK corral a little more exciting. It doesn't hurt though, just a slight sting.

Even so, when you give your kids an Airsoft shotgun, it is a good time to teach them about gun safety and how to be responsible. That way they stay safe and don't accidentally harm animals or birds. They should be taught how to properly handle the gun as well as how to shoot it. They should understand the importance of wearing eye protection. And because kids will be kids, they should only use Airsoft guns under adult supervision. - 29951
