F6 Polar Heart Monitor Review

By Ed J Price

The following write-up a head-to-head comparison between the Polar F6 heart rate monitor watch and the Garmin FR60 monitor. Both are manufactured by top Companies in the market. The Polar F6 heart rate monitor watch is a real versatile heart monitor that works best when the user is around a group of fellow exercisers. The Polar F6 has special technology that cancels out unwanted signals or cross-talk from other wireless devices and heart monitors. This is just one of the many innovative features that the Polar F6 possesses. The F6 is created to help users achieve their fitness and/or weight loss goals.

Functions

Another thing that the F6 Polar Heart Rate Monitor includes is the Polar ZonePointer, which notifies you of your heart rate. This happens with both audible and visual effects that are in the watch. Two other features are the Polar OwnCal (which gives you your energy read) and the OwnCode.

The OwnCode feature of the Polar product is great - it prevents you from getting signals you don't want from other devices. The product also keeps track of your heart rate and shows you your exercise duration. With a 24 hour display, it is easy to view and has a long battery life. It's also water resistant up to 100 feet.

FR60 Garmin Monitor

The Garmin FR60 heart monitor watch is the latest in Garmin's monitors for the heart rate industry. This monitor is poised to carry the legacy of other great Garmin monitors such as the Forerunner 305 and 405. Included with this monitor is the all new ANT stick USB technology and instruction manual. It is a versatile monitor that can be used over a wide range of sporting disciplines such as running and cross training, cycling and other fitness activities such as weigh lifting. The ANT+ Technology wirelessly connects the Garmin FR60 to other devices for optimum performance. For instance, it connects to a speed and cadence sensor and transfers the data to a PC for training data to be analyzed.

Other minor features include the one year average battery life, Garmin's software, water resistance to a depth of fifty meters and the ability to keep lap history of 100 laps. Overall, both the Polar F6 and Garmin FR60 are pretty even when features and functions come into play. Having been around for awhile, the Polar F6 has become somewhat a favorite amongst fitness enthusiasts. I am sure though that one day, the Garmin FR60 will become one of the top heart rate monitors around. - 29951
