How To Lose Weight And Get Fit Quickly

By Steve Roberts

Do you want to lose weight? Would you like to have more energy than you have done in years? Do you want to feel great? Do you want to live longer and be healthier?

I'm sure that the answer to all of those questions is yes! And what you will learn from reading this article is that losing weight and getting fit quickly really is easier than you may have thought. Having the body you've always imagined is easier than you would think. Below are the 7 simple steps to losing weight and getting fit quickly.

START OFF SLOWLY. Do not set overly ambitious goals when you first begin exercising. You are more likely to not achieve what you have set out to and as a result your motivation and enthusiasm will suffer. Failing to reach an overly ambitious challenge may result in you thinking that exercise as a whole is just too hard for you. This is not the case. Start off by exercising once or twice per week at the most, and then once you are comfortable with this level, increase it to 3 or 4 times a week. The key is to increase the number of times you work out slowly.

HAVE A PLAN FOR FITNESS. Use a note book or a chart to monitor your progress. Every time you exercise take a note of what you have done and where you are with regards to reaching your goal. If you want to be a certain shape by the end of the year, then each time you workout imagine what you want, see yourself getting there and write down what you have just done to achieve your objective. You also need to note down what you eat each day and an approximation of the calories you consumed. You are more likely to succeed if you have a realistic plan that you can stick to. That way you will stay motivated and you will succeed in achieving your goal.

KEEP IN YOUR MIND THE BENEFITS OF EXERCISING. Remember you are exercising to improve your health above all. Health is the most important thing you or I have and taking care of it is critical to a long and happy life. When you are fit many aspects of your life improve. You will be full of energy and you will feel less under pressure with the daily problems that we all have to cope with.

MAKE EXERCISE PART OF YOUR ROUTINE. It is no use working out one week and then missing several weeks in a row. In order to see results you must not let other things get in the way of your workout. Make a scheduled time in your calendar for exercise just as you would any other appointment and stick to it.

GET NEW EATING HABITS. Half the answer to losing weight and getting fit is regular exercise. The other part of the equation is eating the right food. If you eat more than your body needs it stores this extra energy as fat. To shift this fat you simply need to burn off more calories than you are taking in. There is a lot of information available to us on what is and isn't healthy but I suggest you start on Government websites. They have no axe to grind and are not being paid by any producer of food. Once you have a feel for what you should be eating start browsing healthy eating cookbooks and websites. Make sure that you increase your intake of raw foods such as vegetables and fruits and try to make your meals from fresh ingredients so you know exactly what is going into them.

FIVE MEALS A DAY. Never ever skip breakfast. Breakfast sets our metabolism up for the day. However, it as just as important to not miss any other meal. If you miss a meal it knocks your blood sugar levels out off balance and your body reacts by programming itself to store fats the next time you eat. You will find losing weight and getting fit almost impossible to do if you skip meals on a regular basis. Eat three good balanced meals everyday and for your mid morning and mid afternoon snacks have nuts or fruit.

DRINK LOTS OF WATER. We all know this but rarely do we drink as much water as we should. If you drink too little your body holds on to water and you become bloated. You will find that if you increase your water intake you will actually lose some weight as your body resets itself to stop storing water. Water also cleanses our body so we need a good supply to keep our digestion on track and our kidneys flushed of toxins. So try and drink 6-8 glasses per day, more if you are exercising. And sodas, teas and coffees do not count towards this.

Try following these steps for 21 days and see how it goes. I am confident that you will feel better and will be on your way to losing weight and getting fit quickly. - 29951
