Is it Possible to Build Muscles Quickly?

By Ricardo d Argence

Anyone who is into bodybuilding knows it's all about increasing your muscle mass. But many people get frustrated when they don't see the big muscles they imagined right away. Instead of giving up, try what successful bodybuilders do.

There are a few key points that can help you build muscle quickly that are relatively easy to implement. So without wasting anymore time here are a few quick tips to build muscle quickly:

1. Harness the Power of Visualization. Visualize yourself the way you want to look with the muscles you want to achieve. Imagine how your body will stand out in a crowd and the kinds of looks you will get. Imagine how good you will feel. Visualization harnesses the power of the subconscious to make what you see become reality.

In order for this image to become real it begins to change your behaviour on a day to day basis to produce the mental picture you have. It also enhances your motivation and confidence that you will indeed achieve your goal. Do this on a daily basis for 10 minutes or so and you will soon start to notice the difference. Your day to day behaviour gradually changes to reflect the demands of your goal.

Many top sportsmen including the likes of Tiger Woods, David Beckham, Usain Bolt to name only a few use visualisation in their training and believe it has played an important role in their success. So, if you don't believe me then at least try it on their recommendation!

2. Mix Things Up. Incorporate variety into your workout routine as much as possible. For instance, compound sets can really help build your muscles, so why not do one set of exercises focusing on a particular group of muscles and then follow it with another set of different exercises that also focuses on that muscle group. This is how compound sets work and keep your training interesting.

For instance, you could bench press first and then do some dumbbell flies. This will have you feeling the burn! You can also maximize your muscle growth with the use of giant sets, drop sets, super sets, partials, and other techniques.

3. Snack Smart for Muscle Energy. Eat for workout energy. About 1 hours prior to your workout, eat a hearty snack. Then, about 30 minutes prior to working out, eat a piece of fruit.

As soon as possible post workout try and get a large dose of both carbohydrate and protein in to your system. Other times when it is essential to take on calories to build muscle quickly are just before bed and immediately upon arising. remember your muscles grow when they are at rest and at night time they need the calories to do this!

4. Workout for 30-45 Minute Intervals. If you work out for longer than 45 minutes, your body will trigger the release of hormones that could impede muscle building and growth. So you always want your workouts to be kept under 45 minutes total.

In fact, working out for 30 minutes is the ideal. This provides for the optimum hormone levels to help your workouts generate muscle mass. It also ensures you still have the energy needed to grow your muscles.

5. Stay Focused. Don't get distracted or caught up in thinking so you get discouraged. Rather, keep the end in mind and stay focused on the result you want to achieve. Concentrate during your workouts by having goals for each individual workout, wearing a headset, and/or maintaining a log of your training. Work hard for a short duration at a high intensity. Then go on with the rest of your day.

There they are! Five tips to help you build muscle fast. Put them into practice and you, too, can have great bodybuilding results. - 29951
